Video Game Work
Some samples from nearly a decade of professional work writing on AAA video games.
My first trailer script for Apex Legends, introducing a bit of backstory on our sweet boy Fusey.
Another trailer script I wrote, this time for a character I helped create: Vantage!
I didn’t write this script, but Seer was the first Legend I helped out with when I joined Apex, and I wrote all his dialogue and defined his literal voice.
Another trailer for the character I helped create: Vantage. I worked really closely with the animation team too, pitching ideas for her and Echo (her little bat buddy), some of which made it into the game.
Kickoff episode of our ambitious Year of Story centering on the rework of our Legend Revenant. I wrote this script, aiming to make it a balance of mystery and action to kick things off.
My first story event I wrote, working closely with Narrative Designer extraordinaire Bilal Arshad. Hugely proud of this one.
Second Apex story event I wrote, working again alongside the illustrious Bilal Arshad.
Incredibly stupid mission from PvZ: BfN and I couldn’t be happier about it.
I apologize to the original copywriter because when I saw their boilerplate “look at the xmas skins: cool, right?” script for the event, I saw a joke I couldn’t ignore. I wrote this script for fun and sent it to marketing. My head nearly flew off when I heard that they got so hyped after reading it they locked down THE Captain Picard to perform it. Yes, I am aware it wasn’t the poetry of my scribbery (Billy Shakes can make up words but I can’t?!) rather money that convinced P. Stew, but still. Life: made.
